Cornerstone

Bar refurbishment

The cornerstone has been a popular watering hole for many generations, although in recent years it had been severely neglected.

The versatility of the bespoke fabrication allowed for minimal loss of floor area and the use of small pockets of previously unutilised space.

With a very tight 3 month period from our first appointment to opening night, the brief was simply to provide a clean and fresh look whilst respecting the raw charm of the original features and retain a cosy pub experience for the regulars.

Benches, shelves, wine racks and partitions were all designed and detailed from blackened steel profiles and mesh.

The entire interior was stripped out ensuring as much of the materials and furniture were reused.

Flush glazing reveals the original cellar which was discovered beneath during the works.
