Our client’s family needs are also such that they have a family member with additional needs that they want to provide an element of self-contained living space, that is incorporated into the whole. With this and the other spatial requirements, we have completely re-configured the ground floor layout, within the existing footprint, incorporating the garage, and with just a small extension to give additional utility/service space on the north side. This far more efficient use of the space allows us to provide a more open plan, bringing natural light into the core of the house, reducing the need for artificial lighting, and providing the much needed connection to the rear garden and southern terrace from the main living spaces.
