Work in Progress
The original approval, included for 2 phases of the work, the first of which was completed about 6 years ago. Now as a family of 5, with 3 young children, our client is keen to embark on the next phase of work. Having lived in the property for these past 6 years and with certain life changes, their requirements have understandably changed a little since the original approval. The proposal as attached addresses this revised brief and offers the additional internal space required, ensuring minimal impact to the external amenity of this property and neighboring dwellings.

Extension and reconfiguration of an existing house.
The site currently encompasses an existing 1960s house with a converted garage, patio area and sloping lawn. This was seen as an opportunity to build a lifetime family home by our clients that aspire to settle down in Guernsey. The clients came to us and throughout the design process have developed a brief that is focused around making the best use of the light, views, and connections to the surrounding landscape, following sustainability principles to reduce environmental impact and operational running costs.

Work in Progress
Our client came to us in 2019 looking to build a new build family home for their large family, comprising of 4 young sons. The family required a 6 bedroom home, with associated quiet study space and isolated entertainment space for both the parents and the various age groups of their children. They wished to build a thermally and energy-efficient home that made the most of the views, and the visual and physical connection to the site whilst also respecting its place within and dissolving into the hillside below. They wanted to create a home that is, abundant with natural light and passive ventilation, and constructed from a natural material palette that will weather into its surrounding. Permission was granted in 2020.
