Turning a headache into a space for enjoyment and connection to the outdoors.
Our client approached us to redesign her existing conservatory and external patio area. The existing conservatory was of low quality and poor repair, and not fit for purpose resulting in it leaking throughout the winter months and overheating during summer.
Our client wanted to create a more comfortable and habitable space that takes advantage of their south-facing garden. Taking into consideration current build costs, the proposed extension maintains the existing footprint, to provide a simple build process. The form of the new extension has been kept as simple as possible; a minimalist square shape that is clad using various timber profiles which follows a grid.
The proposed sliding doors open directly onto the proposed planted courtyard area. The patio and garden have been re-designed to create pockets of space for relaxing and also provides a much-improved visual outlook from the kitchen, dining and living area.
